We are a fair sized practice (8900 patients) just off the motorway junction at Sarn, nestled between the town of Bridgend and the Ogmore and Garw valleys. Our building is relatively new and has recently been extended to accommodate our Registrars .
We have four full-timers and two half-timers, and all will take part in training on a rota basis using their various areas of expertise to pass on to you. There are two trainers at present, though plans are afoot to expand this number in due course. Two partners are appraisers and one holds a senior clinical tutor post in Swansea University.We have regular practice and PHCT meetings to which you will be invited as these give valuable insight into the working of general practice away from patient contact. We expect you will also have a lot of contact with all members of the practice team during the working day as this is the sort of environment we have at Tyn Y Coed.
It is our intention to deliver training in a supportive and realistic manner which will be sensitive to the needs of the registrar, patients and other partners. At the end of your period with us we would expect you to be equipped for practice and be looking for a practice like ourselves where workload, support and reward is equitable and dare we say enjoyable.
