As Bridgend is a large scheme it is impossible to accommodate hospital-based trainees at the two half-day releases. However, we feel it is really important that you do have some GP-based trainee while you work in hospital, and we also need to keep in touch with you. We therefore run a half-day release specifically for hospital based GPSTs. These occur in school holidays, when the normal half-day release does not occur. They run from 1pm to 4pm, usually in the Postgraduate Centre.

We assign a specialty to each session, and expect the trainees currently working in that specialty to present something to their colleagues. Most trainees choose to present ‘What you need to know about xxx to be a GP’. Some people have presented case studies. You can choose any media you wish. The PDs will facilitate the session to ensure it is relevant for GPs.

The timetable for these sessions can be found here:  ST1 and ST2 Hospital Teaching

Please note you should book study leave so that you can attend.
