Every GPST must undertake at least 72 hours of OOH work during their ST3 year, and 36 hours during their ST3 practice attachment. You will each be given an OOH workbook. You should complete a ‘Record of OOH Session’ sheet for every session you work, which must be signed and agreed by your Clinical Supervisor at the end of each session. By the end of 72 hours you should have achieved all the competencies. If not then you will need to undertake further OOH training until the competencies have been satisfactorily achieved. Your trainer will need to sign a ‘Satisfactory Completion of OOH Training’ form about six to eight weeks before you finish GP training. This form is included on the memory stick.
You are also expected to record each shift in the OOH section of your e-portfolio. You should reflect on you experience and outline any learning needs arising from the session. Please state the date, times and number of hours worked on the first line of the entry.
To arrange your shifts please contact Annette on 0845 7626560
